The first American Sports Centers (ASC) was developed in 2003 with the intent of creating a successful business model for a world class indoor recreation facility that could be duplicated in multiple locations across the country. Our model facility in Anaheim, California has proven successful and is one of the most popular and recognized indoor recreation facilities in the country. ASC Anaheim hosts more than 700,000 players and spectators each year in our 150,000 square foot facility. Our 22 volleyball/16 basketball courts are wood surfaced and according to HARO floors, is the single largest wood floor application in the world. ASC Anaheim also boasts 9 indoor soccer courts, a retail shop, a coffee house serving Starbuck's Coffee, a Courtside Café, meeting rooms, multiple offices.
Multi-Sport
Many sports organizations call ASC their home, including; the United States
Men's National (Olympic) Volleyball Team - having moved to ASC from the
Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, the National Basketball
Association's (NBA) Anaheim Arsenal Developmental Basketball Team,
EuroGymnastics, a world class rhythmic gymnastics training organization,
Southern California Volleyball Association, National Junior Basketball
Association, Golden West Volleyball, Competitive Athletic Training Zone,
Collegiate Sports of America - Prep Star (an athlete/recruiting organization),
College Sports Quest (preparing high school student athletes for college),
Interamericana Indoor Soccer League, and others.
When speaking of the USA Men's National Volleyball Team moving to ASC, Anaheim
Mayor Curt Pringle stated, "This is the future of Anaheim. This will benefit
the City, the team and the volleyball community as a whole and we hope that
many other amateur sports programs will follow."
Last year, ASC hosted tournaments over 50 weekends. Tournaments included youth
and adult volleyball, youth and adult basketball, and indoor soccer (Futsol).
The tournaments ranged from smaller, local tournaments to very large, Junior
Olympics Qualifiers, with many hundreds of teams from dozens of states
competing.
In addition to sports tournaments, events such as camps, clinics, high school
tournaments, collegiate practices, events for the Special Olympics, YMCA,
other charity organizations, and civic groups are hosted. Notable events
include; John Wooden's Pyramid of Success Corporate Training and the Junior
NBA Summer Camp.
Award Winning
ASC has been recognized as a leader in our industry and as such has received
numerous awards. The City of Anaheim, Anaheim Chamber of Commerce, County of
Orange, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's Office, The California State
Assembly and Congress have all honored ASC as "Small Business of the Year".
Volleyball Magazine listed ASC as one of the "Top 8 Indoor Facilities" in
the country.
Sponsorships

In addition to enhancing the quality of life for local families, ASC becomes
an integral member of the business community. We work cooperatively with our
City partners to draw visitors and recognition to our partner cities. In
Anaheim, ASC has entered sponsorship and host hotel arrangements with:
Coca Cola, Volvo, Hilton Suites, Holiday Inn, Radisson Hotels, Desert Palms
Hotels, and Carousel Inn and Suites.
Community-Minded
As part of our responsibility to our local communities, ASC looks for
opportunities to give back. We host Special Olympics events, annual Christmas
holiday parties for disadvantaged youngsters, and other activities for local
youth. We offer discounted rates for seniors to encourage their participation
in physical activities. ASC also is proud to open our facilities at no charge
to local fire fighters and police officers to assist in the physical training
and recreation.
